A Montessori school is a unique setup where a mixed-age group of children from ages 3–6 learn together, unlike a regular school. In Montessori, children learn by self-exploration, discovery and hands-on work. Montessori is child-centric, whereas conventional schools are syllabus-centric. The child moves at their own pace, guided by trained educators and carefully designed materials.
At Kilkari the children are nurtured to be very skilful and adaptable. They are well trained in life skills and concepts, which puts them ahead of the syllabus standards of other boards of education. So, they blend in easily and often excel in whichever school they move to next.
Yes. All our guides are trained from standard Montessori Training centres. They hold certifications from recognised institutions such as IMC (International Montessori Centre) and IIMS (Indian Institute of Montessori Studies), and bring genuine passion and expertise to every child interaction.
Choosing a Montessori environment for your child has many benefits. Known for individually paced learning and fostering independence, the Montessori Method also encourages empathy, a passion for social justice and a joy in lifelong learning. Given the freedom and support to question, to probe deeply and to make connections, Montessori students become confident, enthusiastic, self-directed learners who are able to think critically, work collaboratively and act boldly.
Our guides are trained to observe and manage the mixed-age classroom effectively. Lessons are tailored to each child according to their age and stage, delivered through the materials. These individual lessons happen across the class throughout the day — as and when a child completes one material and is ready to move on to the next. Children are seen working with their materials independently and with great concentration.
We will assist in the process of toilet training. However, the journey has to begin both at home and at school together, and parents must co-operate with the same process at home. It is a partnership — we work together to help the child achieve this important milestone with patience and care.
